Good ol’ Country Jammin’

View This Video on Google
My parents, along with my grandmother and uncle were up visiting my other uncle’s family in northern South Dakota this past weekend and filmed this gem. You may see here “cheap entertainment” but it actually gives me a slight bout of homesickness. This may as well have been an alien […]

Temperature / die Temperatur

[EN]
It’s supposed to get down to -45°F / -43°C with windchill in South Dakota today! Why can’t I feel my face? I walked about 100 yards and was winded because it’s so naughty word cold out there!
[DE]
In Süd-Dakota sollen wir heute angeblich bis -43°C als gefühlte Temperatur haben. Warum spüre ich mein […]

Auctioneer

My first day back in wonderful South Dakota was spent at a local auction. In case you’ve never heard such a thing, you’re in luck now! Shot on location in Platte, SD!

Huron Firm Turns into Virtual Reality Giant

Ok, so I had a weird dream last night that a company I used to work for somehow got into virtual reality (immersion…matrix style) development.
A snippet:
I returned to my desk after being away in Europe for almost 2 years to find it as I had left it. A EUR 50 bill is laying under […]

Digg Diggers Dig South Dakota

Digg is a site I check upon nearly every browser opening of every day. I started my Sunday afternoon with a good laugh since the recent failed zip feedmill implosion in Sioux Falls, SD was a front page digg. What a splendid surprise to see guys I know in real life commenting on […]

Prairie

Another random photo, this time of some prairie land. Some errors in this construction as well… Must have spaced my photo out a bit too wide. Oops.

Lake

Completely random panorma of a lake. Taken somewhere between Madison and Salem, South Dakota on US-Hwy 81.

Fishing

One of the largest panoramas I’ve made. 180° view of the James river in Huron, South Dakota. The apartment I stayed at while in Huron is located just a few blocks from the water’s edge. The fellow I stayed with was a fishing nut and (I believe) picked out the apartment for this specific feature. […]

Highway

Originally part of a larger panorama I had to split the north and south halves to get a better “stitch” of the images. No real inspiration behind the image other than the weather looking plain crazy all day.

north
south
For the geographically curious this was captured 11 miles west of Madison, South Dakota on US-Hwy 81.

Church Drum Session

Sometimes I play Klong Yaw for the church I attend in Madison, SD. After we were done practicing one night I spotted the trap set in the corner and couldn’t resist. This clip is of me just messing around on it. Kinda rusty since I don’t have a set around but it was a blast […]

Family Portrait Fun

I needed a portrait of some kind to send to the school I wish to attend in Germany. My thought was perhaps it would be better to take a family portrait as I hate pictures only of myself. Over the weekend at home we sat down all family like and focused our attention […]

Mission Impossible Jon

A practical joke played on one of my roomates. A couple people and myself are hiding out in my room. We ran a sixty foot A/V cable downstairs and out the front door. We then constructed a twenty foot pole to mount the camera on by duct-taping lat boards together. I turned on the microphone […]

Cousin’s Wedding

A small Scottish themed eatery in Watertown, South Dakota was the home of my cousin’s wedding “rehearsal dinner”. Nice place, good food, congratulations Jamie.

Here is the church where the ceremony took place. Holy Name is also located in Watertown, South Dakota.

Tent Room

My abode during the first three semesters off campus. My room in the house was dubbed the “tent room” due to it’s oh-so-intelligent shape. Cozy, I liked it.
